In Hi-Speed Pornography Part 1, I wrote about the advancement of pornographic novelty throughout history, along with the damages it can cause to the human brain with constant use.
If you haven’t read Part 1, I highly recommend scanning through it, and increasing your awareness on how deep you might be in the rabbit hole. The deeper you are, the more knowledge, awareness, discipline, motivation and “cojones” it will take to STOP the habit or addiction.
Take time to restructure your mindset and NOT ONLY WANT, but BE HUNGRY for change.
You are on this blog to enhance your human performance. Anything that disrupts, or hinders your progress, can, and should be abandoned.
Your Pornography Reboot Blueprint

Rebooting the brain from hi-speed pornography in simple form is to ABANDON ALL ARTIFICIAL STIMULATION that may activate the brain to use porn again. For many men, it also helps to abstain from masturbation and ejaculation for a period of time.
Why do you have to stop masturbating and ejaculating?
Because the relation between what your brain perceives as true to nature, has been overridden by artificial reality. Your body and brain have identified pornographic material and self-pleasure as ONE entity, but in truth, self-pleasure is not dependent solely on visual material, but rather the creative capabilities of the mind.
Sustainability also plays a huge factor, so if you think that whenever you are horny or need to get laid, you have to go out and meet people as opposed to watching a five-minute clip to get off… then you have the wrong idea.
What is important here is the divergence of energy. You need a HIGHER PURPOSE to fuel the non-needy behavior towards pornographic material.
Resistance to pornography isn’t necessarily fueled by real partners, but more so the variety of what’s natural to our reward system. This varies in hierarchical importance to each individual, but the following pillars of reward and satisfaction are:
PROPER NUTRITION, PHYSICAL EXERTION, CRAFT, WEALTH, HEALTHY RELATIONSHIPS, PERSONAL HOBBIES and ACHIEVEMENTS
These are the pillars of a higher purpose and they all provide equanimity when aligned. Fascination and practice in all is the proper remedy to non-needy behavior towards porn or anything that disrupts your ability to perform at your peak potential.
Let’s get into what you can implement TODAY, so you can be pornography FREE.
Strategies and Guidelines to Properly Reboot

1) Get Educated and Increase Awareness
Reading these articles are a great start, and hopefully I have provided enough information in both Part 1 and Part 2 to get you going, but I still recommend reading whatever else you can get your hands on to fully internalize this mindset. At the end of this article, you will find online resources that shed greater light on this topic from different channels of insight.
2) Banish ANY and ALL Pornographic Material and Triggers
This is where you need to let go of attachments and completely cut out anything that could trigger any cues to relapse. This is not a time to rationalize looking at bikini models on Google, especially if you are fresh into rebooting because your brain is craving erotic novelty and by giving in, you ruin your bodies natural process to re-establish it’s baseline functionalities. Here is a list of MUST-DO’s to avoid triggers:
-> COMPLETELY delete all history, bookmarks, videos, photos, and any other paraphernalia that references pornographic material, or can lead you to it.
-> Download a FILTER to block out X Rated sites. OpenDNS (free), K9 Web Protection (free), Self Control (free), Anti Social (paid) are all great options. Make sure to enable Safe Search on Google; this will help with random images popping up when you type in keywords that could lead to promiscuous material.
-> LIMIT or STAY OFF social media sites during your reboot. This includes Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Pinterest, dating sites, erotic literature, swimsuit/bikini galleries, and even shopping sites such as Amazon or Craigslist. Browsing through any site that requires you to constantly seek out novelty and spike Dopamine can trigger the sensitized pathways to watch Porn while in the rebooting process. Without you even knowing, scrolling through a Facebook Timeline can trigger those sensitized pathways. Now I understand this will be difficult for many of you since social media is a means to connect with friends and family, as well as spreading ideas and promoting your brand, but remain vigilant. If your brain tells you that you might trigger a potential cue to watch porn, then stop and avoid engagement.
-> Put off staring at your computer screen ONE to TWO hours before bed. First of all, it’s terrible for your eyesight and your body’s ability to produce Melatonin, which hinders sleep quality. Second, when it starts getting late and your eyes are glued to the screen while you repetitively click through websites, the body falls into a loop of constant novelty pursual. This effect challenges your will power to get off the computer and go to bed.
-> Refrain from watching movies and shows that contain borderline soft-core porn. I understand you’re an adult, but for the sake of rebooting it’s better to NOT tamper with the recovery process. If this happens accidentally without you seeking it out, then it shouldn’t affect you a whole lot. If it happens with your conscious persual, then you’ll have to stop and question your actions. The last thing you want to do is justify your sensitized pathways.

3) Replace the Addiction
Now that you have all this free time and energy, you better use it wisely and substitute the time you would’ve spent masturbating to pixels on a screen with rewarding practices.
Give these life enhancements a shot:
-> Pursuing REAL partners. Go to networking events, friendly gatherings, house parties, clubs, lounges, bars, meet up groups, or just high-volume areas in your city where you can chat with people. The longer you substitute porn with real interactions, flirting, getting numbers, setting up dates, sensual touch, kissing, having sex and pursuing relationships, the easier it will be to drop your habit since you will be preoccupied experiencing authentic reality.
-> EAT QUALITY FOODS and WORKOUT. The Taoist’s believe that by ejaculating and releasing sperm you are releasing powerful fluid from your body that can be used towards what is favorable to your health and longevity. In essence, the less frequently you release fluid, the more energy and vitality you will conserve to pursue natural rewards.
-> CULTIVATE A CRAFT. If you don’t have a skill-set, start becoming GREAT at something. What are you interested in, but never pursued? Who’s skills and lifestyle do you envy? What do you spend most of your time thinking about? Start honing your CRAFT now!
-> Focus on your PERSONAL DEVELOPMENT HOBBIES and ACHIEVEMENTS. Here are some ideas: start building a business, read more books, write in a journal, draw, join groups and clubs, meditate, express creativity through any medium, find a girlfriend, go on a hike, work on your financial goals. All these endeavors would keep you so busy to the point where finding instant gratification from watching porn would feel FOREIGN to your fulfillment.
4) Set Sustainable Goals and Challenges
Not only do you have to completely change your mindset in order to quit, but you also have to set reasonable goals that prevent you from relapsing. Relapsing happens, but it is important that you re-commit to what you set out to do, no matter how strong your addiction is.
Every time you relapse, your streaks of NO PMO (Porn, Masturbation, Orgasm) should extend in duration.
Start with at least 30 days of no PORN, MASTURBATION or ORGASM. Once you’ve accomplished that, you can go for 60, 90 days, and onwards. At this point you’ll want to re-introduce self-pleasure when necessary to keep your sanity and pipes flowing. Make sure to keep track of your goals and personal timelines in a journal or spreadsheet.
For those of you interested in the Taoist practice, here is an excerpt on ejaculation frequency from “The Multi Orgasmic Man by Mantak Chia” …
“A man at twenty can ejaculate once every four days.
A man at thirty can ejaculate once every eight days.
A man at forty can ejaculate once every ten days.
A man at fifty can ejaculate once every twenty days.
A man at sixty should no longer ejaculate.”

5) Switch Up Your Environment
-> Leave the house if you are not disciplined enough to maintain your composure. Try a coffee shop, library or other external environment that will provide you with space to get work done. The urge to watch any pornographic material will diminish by your public surroundings.
-> Take 5 minute breaks every 25 minutes to stretch and go outdoors for air. This timed routine is called the Pomodairo technique, and by following this structure you help your body break out of the stationary position and become dynamic in movement. This technique will also help your eyes re-adjust and not become strained from staring at a screen for too long.
6) Acquire External Support
-> Get an accountability partner or mentor that keeps you honest and driven to achieve goals that you couldn’t manage accomplishing on your own. Many times, an external PUSH will really help put matters into perspective. Ideally you could both set the challenge to stop PMO together and keep track of each others progress.
Prepare for Withdrawal Symptoms

Relief from ANY ADDICTION is an arduous process, not an instant triumph.
Because you’ve put your body and mind through repetitive damage, and just because you give it a chance to finally breath, doesn’t mean you are entitled to regain optimal health within the time frame that is convenient for you.
If you go cold turkey, there are always signs of instant relief upon removal, but the benefits worth living for come long after you have stopped. Your body needs time to internalize the new lifestyle and habits it has been presented with. Adaptation is at play my friend, the last thing you want to do is disrupt it.
The list below will give you an idea of what to expect in your journey to quitting porn. There is no specific sequence of what you will experience at any given time since everyone’s situation is unique, but by acknowledging the possibilities, you can better remedy the situation should they arise.
If you experience anything on this list while quitting porn, realize that it is TEMPORARY. This is your body’s natural process of reacting to a void while it returns to baseline functionalities. In any case, if you are certain that the symptoms are unrelated to pornography or require emergency attention, go visit your doctor or call 911 right away.
Here is what to expect:
- Loss of libido AKA flatline AKA lifeless genitals. Don’t revert back to porn to regain your erection like many users do. This DOES NOT help and will simply reinforce the bad habit.
- Severe cravings and rationalization to re-use porn. This is inevitable, but if you have strategized your goals properly, the effects can be diminished.
- Anxiety. Your brain needs to be in a cycle of pursuing real partners more frequently. Social congruity is at play, keep going.
- Pervasive DREAMS and FLASHBACKS to pornographic material (when these thoughts come to mind, imagine yourself crushing them to pieces with your fist)
- Avoiding social situations
- Mood swings
- Lethargy and unusual circadian rhythm
- Aggressive behavior
- Muscle tightness and cramps. Make sure you drink lots of water and are getting enough electrolytes.
- Joint pain. Quality fish oil helps.
- Poor concentration
- Inability to sleep. This is especially true if you have always watched porn before bed.
- Feelings of worthlessness
- Ineffective breathing
A general timeline for rebooting from “Your Brain on Porn by Gary Wilson”…
“A few men bounce back in a relatively short time: about 2-3 weeks. Perhaps their difficulties are due to psychological conditioning, excessive levels of masturbation (fueled by internet porn), or a minor case of desensitization.”
“The vast majority of guys need 2-6 months (or longer) to fully recover. Most ‘long-rebooters’ experience a variety of withdrawal symptoms, including the dreaded flatline. Typically, they are younger guys who started early on Internet porn. I suspect that this unfortunate trend is the natural outcome of highly malleable adolescent brains colliding with Internet porn”
Don’t let these obstacles stand in your way, keep going, the river flows into paradise…

The definition of paradise in this case is an epiphany that you will eventually experience with enough time away from porn. You will start noticing that you have immense TIME, ENERGY and FOCUS for neglected ideas and actions.

Make a decision today to never watch porn again, and DO NOT look back, no matter how strong the urge is. Realize that nothing easily attained is as fruitful and valuable as the one that came with tribulation.
OVERCOME all the psychological and physical obstacles that come with this decision, and start experiencing the benefits listed below:

This article has been a long-term project since the information provided was thoroughly researched and extracted to provide you with the best content possible. I’ve also dealt with many of the topics mentioned in the pornography article series myself, so with first-hand experience, I believed it was my duty to provide men out there with proper enlightenment on the topic.
As of today I am 135 days without pornography (I’ve relapsed after one year off before), without any urges to re-use.
I’m the happiest, strongest, healthiest, kindest and most cognizant I have ever been in a long time, and I want the same for you fellow reader.
